VIIIth Brazilian Meeting on Simulational Physics (BMSP)

During the last years several International Meetings in Physics took place in Brazil, specifically in Minas Gerais (UFMG – Belo Horizonte and UFOP – Ouro Preto), Mato Grosso (Pantanal near Cuiabá), and Paraíba (João Pessoa).
In 1997 we had the Ist Brazilian Meeting on Simulational Physics and two years later the IInd Meeting was held. In 2000 we celebrated the 100th year of the birth of Ernest Ising through the Ising Centennial Colloquium. All of them were held in Belo Horizonte. In 2003, 2005, 2007 we had the IIIth, IVth, and Vth Brazilian Meeting in Ouro Preto. In 2008 Ouro Preto was also the venue of the CCP2008 – Conference on Computational Physics, the only computational physics meeting sponsored by IUPAP. The VIth and VIIth Brazilian Meetings were held in the Pantanal region of Mato Grosso and in the shores of João Pessoa, respectively. All these Meetings have been a success and leveraged the strengths of the scientific community as a whole.
Now, for the first time, the VIIIth Brazilian Meeting on Simulational Physics will take place on the sea coast of the southern state of Santa Catarina, in Florianópolis. It will be held from 03 to 08 of August, 2015. We are sure that this Meeting will achieve the same standard as the previous ones.
